The partnership represents the combined interest of over 700 businesses, employing in excess of 20000 people.
Maylands Partnership is a business led strategic alliance that combines the flair and enterprise of the private sector with the long-term vision and accountability of the public sector, with the aspiration of making improvements within Maylands that are consistent with the Master Plan.
Our Achievements:
Maylands Partnership has a growing reputation for its ability to attract public sector funding to support local infrastructure improvements, including:
- Gateway sculpture – this is the largest installation of public art in the South of England.
- Development of the Maylands Master Plan (this has now been adopted by Dacorum Borough Council)
- Introduction of security cameras
- An increased police presence to protect businesses
- Business park signage
- A shopper’s bus
- Networking events
- Roundabout landscaping
- Joint commissioning of a feasibility study to develop an Energy Park concept
- Attracting public funds and securing Maylands regeneration as a strategic priority within Herts County Council, Dacorum Borough Council and the East of England Development Agency.
In addition to this, ongoing activity includes:
- The establishment of a Business Support Centre. The Partnership is working with Dacorum Borough Council and East of England Development Agency to open a new business support centre for Maylands businesses.
- Further security cameras and Automatic Number Plate Recognition systems
- Development of a landscaping plan, incorporating improvements to all areas
