Dräger Medical
Dräger Medical, A Dräger and Siemens Company, is one of the world's leading manufacturers of medical equipment.  Dräger Medical was recently faced with the option of relocating their business or remaining in Maylands when they reached a break point in their lease.  An influence on their decision to remain was the programmes being launched on the 2020 Vision; the Maylands Master plan and the Maylands Business Improvement District (BID).  They made the decision to remain in Hemel Hempstead and to support local initiatives for improvements.

"The Maylands BID proposal, we consider is innovative and provides an exciting vision of the future for Hemel Hempstead.  This theme is very much akin to our company philosophy of product innovation and vision for future generations.  In declaring our support of the Maylands BID, we are confident it will support our business goals; in making improvements in access for our UK and overseas visitors; in providing an improved environment for not only visitors but more importantly our employees to enjoy; in essence making a visit to our building an enjoyable experience for both visitors and employees.  We look forward to the improvements for the Business Park area and welcome the opportunity to attract new businesses to Maylands, bringing greater opportunities for networking, inter company activities and share of information.  We see the Maylands BID as the opportunity to grow a strong Hemel Hempstead Business Community."  Doug Sims, Director of Quality, Dräger Medical

"Location is extremely important to FFEI as 98% of our business is for export, so Hemel Hempstead is an ideal location due to its proximity to Luton and Heathrow and the motorway networks (M1 and M25). Our business is high technology design and manufacture so it's essential that we can easily recruit smart, well educated people. Maylands is ideally situated as it offers a good choice of commutable living areas (St Albans, Berkhamsted, Tring and North London) so we have a wealth of talent to choose from."  Andy Cook, Managing Director, FFEI
