Green Business

Maylands Partnership intends to significantly reduce the business park's carbon footprint.  We will lead this by:

  1. Encouraging the use of appropriate space and facilities to generate renewable energy.  In partnership with Dacorum Borough Council, and others, we will explore the potential of various schemes including solar power, wind turbines and combined heat and power plants.  Opportunities to develop both small and large-scale generation will be considered.
  2. Developing initiatives and projects that support increasingly efficient energy use.  By reducing waste, Maylands businesses will obtain a competitive advantage.
  3. Working with public sector partners to reduce congestion.  Maylands Partnership intends to maximise the opportunities for local residents to access employment within Maylands.  Living and working locally not only reduces carbon emissions, it also increases the quality of life for employees and workforce flexibility for employers.
