Maylands on the Move - 01 February 12

Maylands on the Move is aimed at businesses and their employees specifically at Maylands Business Park. The initiative focuses upon promoting public transport, encouraging responsible car use, supporting active travel and developing smarter business working practices. The Maylands on the move co-ordinator, Lynsey Harris, will be working with businesses based on Maylands to secure their buy-in to the initiative and provide ongoing support to assist businesses in developing and implementing a sustainable transport strategy tailored to their specific site and operating characteristics. Businesses can benefit from this FREE advice and FREE supporting resources and relevant discounts to help get their sustainable transport strategy up and running.

This activity will be supplemented with competitions, challenges and targeted events throughout the year starting with the launch of an online car sharing website, www.maylandscarshare.co.uk and two competitions: an inter-business competition to see which Maylands business can encourage the highest percentage of employees to car share; and a prize draw for all those individuals who register with www.maylandscarshare.co.uk during the months of February and March. Car sharing can help staff to save money, reduce fuel costs and cut congestion.

For more information, including how to access FREE resources to promote car sharing at your site, please visit
